Back from the Brink Conference

Post by HannahGibbons »

Hello everyone!

For the past three years I have been working for the RSPB on a project focusing on the conservation of rare arable plants, called Colour in the Margins.  Believe it or not arable plants are the fastest declining suite of plants in the UK. This project is one of 19 projects within the Back from the Brink programme, a large partnership-working conservation initiative.  All of which focusing on species that are close to extinction in the UK.  For more info about Back from the Brink see: https://naturebftb.co.uk/the-projects/c ... e-margins/

From July 6th – 8th 2021, Back from the Brink will be hosting a free online conference as this is the final year of the programme. Topics covered will include:
  • A diverse range of conservation techniques applied for threatened species recovery, such as translocations/reintroductions/captive breeding etc.,

How we have enhanced habitats and niches for target species through diverse habitat management techniques

Species recovery and management in farmland/bare ground/veteran trees and woodland habitats

People engagement and nature connection, including our community arts programme and our work with film and photography

Sharing our learning and passing-on recommended ways of working
Please see the attached flyer for more details, and please pass this on to other people if you think this event would be of interest to them to register their interest in attending.

All the best,
