You may have seen a post here about a really important species-rich culm grassland site of 60 acres that is on the market: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=423
The sales particulars say ‘The lands are a haven for wildlife with regular sightings of barn owls, woodcock, snipe and buzzards along with roe deer, badgers and foxes’. There’s also an impressive list on the sale particulars of the butterflies, moths, key plants and bird species that have been seen there.
This special place is not legally protected - so it could potentially be damaged or destroyed.
The good news is that Devon Wildlife Trust are busy trying to raise the funds to buy it. They are nearly there but are looking to raise the last £50,000 needed to secure it.
If you would like to support Devon Wildlife Trust in their bid to buy this very special habitat, any donation small or large, will be greatly appreciated.
