Resources for Surveying Small Pearl and Pearl Bordered Fritillaries

Post by DWHITELEGG »

Following on from the talk by Jenny Plackett of Butterfly Conservation about PB/SPB Fritillaries and their status, habitats and what you can do to help them, we are able to share the resources from the event.

Please feel free to download and share this information with others as well, especially if they have either of these species on their land.

Attached are Jenny Plackett’s pdf’s of…
Her informative slide presentation
PB/SPB factsheets
Info leaflet on managing bracken habitats for butterflies
A spreadsheet for returning data to Jenny

Want to practice your skills?
Attached is a survey form for the Aish Tor site - (close to the Newbridge Hill car park in the Dart Valley). This site supports both Small Pearl Bordered and Pearl Bordered Fritillaries.

Are you intending on surveying your own land or would like to survey one of the known Dartmoor sites that need surveying?
Jenny welcomes you to get in touch with her:
