Raking up clods of grass after harrowing

Hi everyone...we've just bravely had half of our one acre paddock harrowed, and there's some great bare soil underneath lots and lots (and lots) of loose clods of grass. I wondered if anyone can advise on what equipment/machinery would be suitable for moving it all (into a giant compost heap)...does anyone have any experience here? Would love some advice. Thanks. Darren

Hi Darren,
We used a BSC with a spring 'power' hay rake to rake them up into rows which can then be picked up with a wheelbarrow etc. That said our clods were only light grass roots (remains of the root structures etc) any soil included as big soil clods wouldn't have worked.

Thanks a lot Rob. We found someone local with a small tractor to just push all the roots and earth off the paddock and down into the hedgrows...it's all clear and with the week's rain we're ready to sow this weekend!
