Hi
I planted perennial wildflower mixes last year and they did quite well.
I cut them back last September leaving about an inch of stalk above the ground.
Will the flowers regrow from the stalk or is there something else I should do to encourage them to come back.
I have a scarifier and was wondering if that would be useful to encourage new growth.
Many thanks

Don't worry they will regrow, from the base. You don't need to scarify, you may damage seedling that you might want to keep. You will start seeing new growth as soon as the soil warms up. The plants that are starting to flower here (at 100m on Dartmoor) are primroses and celandines, not much else yet. The full show is end of May/June.
Good luck with your meadow! It'll be exciting to see what comes up this year.
