Scotland Green Hay For Sale

Hello all,

I know this forum is based a far distance from us here in Scotland, but this is the only group that I have found that may help us in spreading the word about our species rich grassland meadow. This meadow is 3acres and was sown in 2023, we have been cutting and removing vegetation for management. As this seem very unsustainable we have started reaching out to people in the hopes of selling green hay bales for creating meadows elsewhere. If you could pass on this information to anyone who may be close to us and interested in creating a meadow that would be fantastic. Or if you have any advice on how we can find buyers please let me know.

Hi Rebecca
If you can't find buyers, you may find a local farmer will cut and bale it for you in exchange for the hay. I had that arrangement when I started, though you may have to compromise when it is cut

Can I ask how much you would sell a bale of green hay for?

£6 a small round bale - it's about one and a half time's the size of a small square bale.
