Sustainable Farmining Initiative GRH6

Post by Chapplecroft »

Hi

We have been on a long and involved journey of securing GRH6 funding across just over 9 hectares.

https://www.gov.uk/find-funding-for-lan ... d-endorsed

If anyone is trying to go through the same thing and needs a friend I am happy to try to help. Not saying I have all of the answers but I can tell you what happened next etc which I would have found helpful.

Feel free to contact me directly.

Yes please Sarah to have a chat 07836657395 though I'm out of area - we're in the Cotswolds. I had the endorsed visit 3 weeks ago. She passed 2 parcels that I'd fortunately had surveyed in the Summer before the haycut, but insisted on soil samples and re survey in the Summer for 11 other parcels. Our farm is part of a landscape recovery project so we need to get it right for those coming on board so they avoid any frustrations. Best Wishes Sam

Hi Sarah
I sent my application in for endorsement over the weekend.
We had a comprehensive Cornwall wildlife trust survey here last summer, as we are hoping to get County wildlife status on our land, so I am hoping that can be used to endorse our application.
Did it take you a long time to get endorsed?
Thanks
Jo

Hi Sam

That's unfortunate that they went away again until the Summer. We persuaded ours to use my photographs and the indicator species for the endorsement.

If they've gone away and won't return until the summer, i'm not sure what more can be done now? unless you think you might be able to persuade them to return earlier?

do you have any kind of survey?

Hi Jo
We were probably one of the first to submit so i'd say three or four months but that may now be longer, i'm not sure.

A full survey is definitely what you need and you need to be asking the RPA whether you can submit it now. There's some guidance about doing so on the last higher tier webinar I sat through from the RPA. Chap attending from natural England
https://defrafarming.blog.gov.uk/2025/0 ... r-webinar/
you need to go to 49:17

This chap also talks about how long it'll take and his suggestion that anything with an endorsement is kept separate from anythign else you're applying for. We did this after we'd submitted as it wasn't the advice in the beginning but it worked out better.

Hope this helps and best of luck!
Sarah

Ah thanks.
Yes, I've made a separate application, I knew to do that from a webinar I attended with west Devon information point on this subject.
And I've written to ask if our CWT survey can be used to endorse.
So wait and see I guess.
Cheers.
